Critical thinking and problem solving course for companies

A critical thinking and problem solving course for teams that fight fires every day and solve the same problem every month because they attack the symptom. In 12 hours your people learn to separate facts from assumptions, recognize their biases, find the root cause with 5 whys and Ishikawa, decide with data and turn the decision into an action plan that gets done.

Critical thinking and problem solving course

What is the critical thinking and problem solving course?

It is a 12-hour program that trains the soft skill companies ask for most in 2026: thinking rigorously before acting. It combines critical thinking (questioning, verifying, spotting biases and fallacies, weighing evidence, including answers from artificial intelligence) with a problem-solving method (define the problem, analyze the root cause, generate alternatives, decide with criteria and execute with follow-up). We work with real problems from the operation and each team leaves with one solved using the method. It complements the leadership and teamwork courses.

How long is the course and how is it delivered?

The exact duration is in the first card. It runs on-site at your company, live virtual for teams in several locations or self-paced on the platform; every participant who meets attendance and assessment receives a DC-3 certificate with the STPS, and Geedle Bot answers questions afterwards with the exact minute of the recording.

What your team will be able to do

Learning objectives observable on the job.

  • Think rigorously: facts, assumptions and biases

Distinguish fact, inference and opinion; recognize confirmation, anchoring and availability biases; spot fallacies in arguments and in AI answers.

  • Define the problem well

Move from symptom to problem, delimit it with data (what, where, when, how much) and agree with the team on what will be solved.

  • Find the root cause

5 whys, Ishikawa diagram, Pareto analysis and verifying the cause with evidence before acting.

  • Decide with criteria and execute

Generate alternatives, decision matrix with criteria and weights, risks, action plan with owners and dates and follow-up in an A3.

Syllabus

What does the course syllabus include?

Six modules in order, each with a deliverable you apply in your operation the following week. Exercises use real files and cases from your organization, each module's assessment is recorded on the platform and serves as evidence for the DC-3 certificate.

  1. Critical thinking at work

Fact, inference and opinion; powerful questions; evaluating sources and evidence; how to review with judgment what artificial intelligence generates.

    Area critical-question list
  2. Biases and fallacies

Confirmation, anchoring, availability and overconfidence biases; frequent fallacies in meetings; how to counter them as a team.

    Team bias map
  3. Defining the problem

Symptom versus problem, delimiting with data (what, where, when, how much), problem statement and scope agreement.

    Data-backed problem statement
  4. Root cause

Well-done 5 whys, Ishikawa diagram by category, Pareto to prioritize and verifying the cause with evidence.

Root cause analysis of a real problem
  5. Deciding with criteria

Generating alternatives, decision matrix with criteria and weights, risk analysis and reversible versus irreversible decisions.

    Case decision matrix
  6. Action plan and follow-up

Simplified A3 format, owners and dates, indicators that the problem is solved, review and standardization.

Who is this course for?

Supervisors, area heads, middle managers, analysts, continuous-improvement, quality, operations, customer-service and project teams in any industry; university leadership teams and public servants who make decisions with incomplete information. Also for teachers who want to teach critical thinking, combined with the AI in education course. No prior knowledge required.

02

What changes in the company after the course?

A real operational problem analyzed down to its root cause with an action plan under way, a one-page format (simplified A3) the team reuses for the next ones, written decision criteria for the area's recurring decisions and meetings where facts, not opinions, are discussed. The fires that repeated every month stop repeating because the cause, not the symptom, was attacked.

For companies

Supervisors and middle managers who solve operations, quality and service problems with method and stop fighting the same fires. We chain it with the leadership course.

02

For universities

Leadership teams and teachers who teach critical thinking and decide with enrollment, dropout and evaluation data. It is part of the courses for teachers and schools.

03

For government

Public servants who decide with incomplete information and must justify with evidence: problem definition, root cause and documented decision criteria, with a DC-3 certificate. It is within the courses for government and the public sector.

Artificial intelligence

An AI agent supports every participant during and after the course

Geedle Bot is trained on the syllabus, materials and recordings of your course. Participants ask in plain language and get an exact answer, not a generic one.

  • Knows every detail of the course: dates, syllabus, deliverables and certificate criteria
  • Solves problems in real time, at any hour, from Moodle, WhatsApp, Teams or Slack
  • Delivers the exact minute and second of the recording where the instructor explained the topic
  • Reinforces what was covered with summaries and review questions, and escalates to the instructor when needed
  • Shows HR which topics raise the most questions so the course can be adjusted

Which format suits each course?

All of them issue a DC-3 certificate and leave records on the platform; what changes is how people practice and how the calendar is organized.
