Active listening course for companies

An active listening course for teams that deal with people all day and still lose information: salespeople who answer before understanding the need, managers who interrupt, service staff who ask the customer the same question twice. In 12 hours your team practices active listening techniques with real conversations from their role, records themselves, gets rubric-based feedback and leaves with tools they use the next day. DC-3 certificate filed with Mexico's STPS and Geedle Bot to review every technique.

Active listening course

What is the active listening course: techniques and tools?

It is a 12-hour program that trains active listening as a work skill, not as theory. It covers five techniques: paying attention without interrupting, paraphrasing to confirm, asking open questions, reading nonverbal communication and responding with empathy without losing the goal of the conversation. Each technique is practiced in pairs with cases from the participant's own role (a complaint, an interview, a one-on-one, a consultative sale) and assessed with an observable rubric. It runs on-site at your company, live virtual or self-paced on the platform, with a DC-3 certificate.

How long is the course and how is it delivered?

The exact duration is in the first card. It runs on-site at your company, live virtual for teams in several locations or self-paced on the platform; every participant who meets attendance and assessment receives a DC-3 certificate with the STPS, and Geedle Bot answers questions afterwards with the exact minute of the recording.

What your team will be able to do

Learning objectives observable on the job.

  • Listen without interrupting or rehearsing the reply

Recognize the habits that block listening (judging, advising, finishing sentences) and replace them with full attention to what the other person says and how they say it.

  • Confirm understanding with paraphrasing and summaries

Give back the essentials in your own words, check facts and emotions, and close each stretch of the conversation with a summary the other person validates.

  • Ask to open, not to steer

Formulate open, follow-up and clarifying questions that bring out the full picture without turning the conversation into an interrogation.

  • Read and use nonverbal communication

Interpret posture, tone, pauses and silences, and align your own bodand thenguage so the person feels heard in person, on the phone and on video calls.

Syllabus

What does the course syllabus include?

Six modules in order, each with a deliverable you apply in your operation the following week. Exercises use real files and cases from your organization, each module's assessment is recorded on the platform and serves as evidence for the DC-3 certificate.

  1. How we listen today

Initial recording in pairs, self-assessment of listening habits and the five most common blockers at work.

    Personal listening diagnosis
  2. Attention and silence

Full attention, the three-second silence, minimal attention signals and how to handle the urge to reply.

    Recorded and assessed practice
  3. Paraphrasing, reflecting and summarizing

Techniques to confirm facts and emotions, when to use each and how to close a stretch of conversation.

    Role-specific paraphrasing script
  4. Questions that open

Open, follow-up and clarifying questions; the errors of closed and leading questions; a question bank by situation.

    Open-question bank
  5. Nonverbal communication and empathy

Reading posture, tone and pauses; empathy without losing the goal; listening on the phone, chat and video calls.

    Nonverbal checklist
  6. Active listening in difficult conversations

Complaints, feedback, interviews and disagreements: listening protocol, final recording compared with the first and a 30-day practice plan.

01

Who is this course for?

Sales and customer service teams that need to understand before they answer, managers and supervisors who run interviews, feedback sessions and one-on-ones, HR staff who handle complaints and conflicts, teachers and student-services staff, and healthcare professionals who communicate with patients and families. No prior training required: it starts from how each participant listens today.

02

What changes in the operation after the course?

Conversations become shorter and carry fewer misunderstandings. The salesperson identifies the real need before quoting, the manager picks up what people were not saying out loud, service staff solve the complaint on the first contact and HR spots signs of conflict or burnout in time. Each participant leaves with a listening diagnosis, a 30-day practice plan and the tools (paraphrasing script, open-question bank, nonverbal checklist) adapted to their role. We measure before and after with an initial and a final recording.

People do not stop listening for lack of interest: they stop because nobody taught them how. At Geedle we train active listening as what it is, a work skill that is practiced, recorded and measured. We prove it with your team's first and last recording.

How active listening is trained at Geedle

Four mechanics that turn a "soft" skill into something observable, measurable and documented for your DC-3.

Real conversations, not scripts

Each participant brings three conversations from their role (a complaint, a meeting, a sale) and practices with them, not with generic cases.

Initial and final recording

We record the first practice and the last; the rubric comparison is the evidence of change and what convinces management most.

Tools that stay

Paraphrasing script, open-question bank and nonverbal checklist, adapted to each area and stored on the platform.

For companies, universities and government

01

For companies

Sales, customer service, HR and supervisors talk with people all day; listening well shortens conversations, avoids rework and reduces escalated complaints. We work with each area's real conversations and leave role-specific tools. It is part of the soft skills courses for companies.

02

For universities

Student services, tutoring and coordinators serve students and parents with little time and a heavy emotional load; the course leaves listening protocols for complaints, guidance and interviews. It complements our teacher training programs.

03

For government

Service windows, citizen service desks and complaint units solve more when they understand on the first try; the course includes citizen service cases and a DC-3 certificate per public servant. It is within the courses for government and the public sector.
