Nuevo León is the industrial hub most tied to the United States: steel, glass, cement, auto parts, appliances and, with nearshoring, dozens of new plants in Apodaca, Pesquería, Salinas Victoria and García, all supplying chains that require ISO certificates by contract. Almost the whole industrial supply base of Nuevo León —in Monterrey and in the Apodaca, Pesquería, Salinas Victoria and García parks— holds ISO 9001 because its US customers require it by contract. That means hundreds of plants in the same chain will be looking for transition audit dates with the same certification bodies before 30 September 2029. Planning the ISO 9001:2026 transition early is, here, a scheduling decision more than a technical one, and the new nearshoring plants should certify directly to the 2026 edition.
